One of the greatest advantages of a smart irrigation system is its ability to save water.  Generally, traditional watering methods can waste as much as 50% of the water used due to inefficiencies in irrigation, evaporation and over watering.

In general, dedicated irrigation flow meters are a great benefit.  Since irrigation uses a lot of water to water your lawn and garden, you should seriously consider installing an irrigation flow meter.  Flow meters measure exactly how much water you are using at all times.

Problems such as busted pipes or sprinkler geyser will quickly show up in the measurements.  As water bills continue to rise people are seeking ways and methods that will help reduce water waste.  When you don’t measure the use of water this could lead to the death of the plants due to being over watered damaged or busted pipes won’t be noticed.  The flow meter controls the amount of water that is received by a plant making sure the water is properly used.

As the cost of water continues to rapidly increase, there is lots of motivation to monitor and manage your irrigation to achieve more efficiency.  While some irrigation controllers can overwhelm users with programming options a flow meter is a simple addition to almost any irrigation system.
